Maple-Oat Banana Bread and Thugged Up Dreams

Count Down: 163 days left. 58 recipes down and 57 to go.

So…I dreamt about Thug Kitchen last night. It was all a bit friggin’ weird actually. But I guess dreams usually are. I dreamt that the Thugs invited me for dinner, but knowing that I lived so far away, and overseas, they said I could just send hologram me. And that way I didn’t actually have to travel and could be there instantly.

When I got there, they were having a dinner party with friends, and of course had made amazing food. Everyone there, including the Thugs themselves were holograms. (But all the holograms could eat. How weird is that part?) This was as a precaution until they got to know who I was, and found out if I could be trusted. Anyways we had a great time, and after a while the real Thugs and their friends showed up so there were doubles of loads of people. (holograms and real people) One of the Thugs even showed me their new book that was being published soon. But rather than it being about food it was their biography. I didn’t get to look inside it though because we were so busy chatting. Then it was time to head back, and I woke up.

Bizarre.

I don’t think it had anything to do with the Thugs actually, I think there was some whole other deeper level, questioning identity shit going on. After all they say that in dreams all the people actually symbolise different aspects of your own personality. But hey, what do I know? I’m only a psychologist. (It’s funny because it’s sorta true)

Anyway, after that I totally felt like eating banana bread, so here we go!

Blended the shit out of some oats, to make the oat flour and followed the other hilariously written instructions. Before I knew it this mofo was in the oven smelling DIVINE. This is one of the easiest recipes ever.

It ended up making a really hearty bread. Very filling. Less cakey, more substantial breakfast material, if you know what I’m saying.

Definitely appropes for munching when you’ve got some pretty heavy soul-searching going on. This bread should come with some small print stating something like, “this bread may not solve all your problems or help you find your true self, but the fiber will keep you regular. Just saying.”
